Gordon Lightfoot's baritone voice and twelve string guitar have defined the sound of folk and country since 1958. Influenced the sounds of Pete Seeger, Ian and Sylvia, and The Weavers, Gordon began playing for drinks and tips in Orillia, Ontario. By 1965 he was traveling to Europe to play, and putting in appearances on Johnny Carson, and at the Newport Folk Festival. Lightfoot has played extensively around the world, and had his songs recorded by an extensive list of legendary artists like Elvis Presley, Pete Seeger, The Grateful Dead, Bob Dylan, Peter Paul and Mary, Judy Collins, The Kingston Trio, and Richie Havens. Gordon Lightfoot is a member of the Songwriters Hall Of Fame, The Canadian Music Hall Of Fame, a Companion Of The Order Of Canada (the highest honor which can be bestowed upon a Canadian citizen),and had his likeness issued on a stamp.

He is a living legend; an incomparable songwriter.
